NFCS Chaplain and Visiting Priest (Rev. Fr. Collins Akhigbe) |
He began by talking about universal principles like commitment, respect, justice, dedication and so on. According to him, Nigeria is a blessed country which seems not to improve due to the absence of these universal principles. He said the diversity of Nigeria is a blessing and these diversity must be harnessed in times of population, good people, natural resources, various diversities and so on.
According to Fr. Collins, for Nigeria to grow, it must be united. The unity of Nigeria seems difficult due to the violation of the universal principles he mentioned. To achieve nationhood, Nigerians must love, accept one another and make use of the universal principle. He also stated how important it is for our leaders to be responsible because Nigerians can not achieve any positivity without cooperation. He also emphasized on the relevance of Creativity amongst Nigerians. Discrimination, ethnicity divides Nigeria. Therefore, everyone should have a sense of ownership of Nigeria and should possess national consciousness.
Rev. Fr. Collins said our government seems to have no regard for others which leads to diversity. He concluded by urging everyone to give positions by merit and spoke on the importance of equality which will bring unity.
After his talk, offertory was conducted. The next segment was the ministration segment. The first band that was called on was the St. Augustine's band. They sang in chad, Idoma and Igbo dialect. The next band that ministered was the Uprising band who sang and was cheered by the congregation. After the Uprising band, the All saints choir ministered. The entire congregation cheered.
