CULTURAL CARNIVAL 2019: Day 4

MORNING SESSION

The days event began with the holy mass around 7am being Sunday. People were seen trooping to the All saints Catholic Chaplaincy in various cultural attires. These people included Catholic and non-catholic worshippers.  During the mass, the liturgy of the word was conducted in different dialects. The priests that conducted the mass were Rev. Fr. Solomon Zaku and Rev. Fr. Hycinth Yawati.

The Zumuntan Mata from St. Augustine's parish were invited. Their performance in singing and dancing was exceptional. The congregation cheered and danced joyfully.

After the liturgy of the Eucharist, various thanksgivings were witnessed which include those born in the month of August, people from the northern region, southern, eastern and western region. Cultural songs and musicals were played in line with every region that came out for thanksgiving. People clapped, danced and cheered.
It was a colorful Sunday seeing people dressed in thier cultural attire.

After the thanksgiving segment, the Bazzar commitee conducted the usual Bazzar support program and the announcements were made by the secretary stating the continuation of the program by 3pm later in the day.

EVENING SESSION
The evening session of the cultural event began with people coming back to the chaplaincy. These people wore excited faces on because most of them were seen with thier meal tickets which is an annual thing. Every last day of cultural week, people are expected to return the meal tickets sold to them. This meal tickets consists of various cultural dishes like Marghi special, White soup and semi, okpa, Abacha, Goat head pepper soup, Eba with egusi and so on. The tickets were collected, torn and the people we're served meals they paid for.

Meanwhile, the Brann hall was well decorated for the evening. The cultural Carnival was well attended by people within and outside the Campus having in attendance over 12 Catholic Priests, Members of staff, students an men and women from all works of life who came to showcase the beauty of their various cultures.

A lot of cultural displays were made to the cheering of the overwhelmed audience, the presentation ranged from cultural dances by Igbo, Akwa Ibom, Tiv, Arewa, Marghi, Bauchi among other cultural groups, and the talk show by the children.
There was also crowning of the new Master and Miss NFCS
