NFCS CULTURAL CARNIVAL 2019: DAY 3


NFCS CULTURAL WEEK 2019
 DAY 3 :. ALUMNI NIGHT. (10/08/2019)
  The opening act of the event kicked off with the FYB old school fashion parade /dance.
 The chaplain Fr Solomon Zaku officially opened the event with a word of prayer.
 After the opening prayer, the MC onoja Charles mackay introduced various dance groups present (Arewa,igbo etc) and invited them in for their cultural dance. The cultural dance began with Nza cultural dance from Bauchi state.
 After the cultural dance was the talk show on the topic "Nigerias Ethnic diversity, a blessing or a curse. "The invited guests featured REV. Fr Donatus Tizhe parish priest St Hillary pollo maiduguri . Bro Kufre udoh former RCF president and sis Elizabeth Ameh Joseph of kaneem FM radio university of maiduguri on the topic "Nigeria's ethnic diversity, a blessing or a curse"

The talk show began with Fr Donatus Tizhe answering a question on what is Nigerias ethnic diversity from on of the anchor sis saduwo Banyawa. The other co-anchor was Bro. Jude Zecharaih
  Miss Elizabeth Ameh the second respondent began by expressing herself on the current state of Nigeria as a diverse nation.  She gave an illustration using the USA as example of a diverse nation base on different ethnicity but yet strong and bounded together despite all societal vices.

 The third respondent BRO Kufre udoh in his response called on everyone to be selfless in service to the nation.
  On the question on whether the unity of Nigeria was possible?, FR Donatus stated that the unity of Nigeria is very possible by harnessing the potentials in other tribe.  According to him,  he enjoys the different dishes prepared by the respective tribes within Nigeria.  While amsweing question on who was responsible for Nigeria unity?, miss Elizabeth first of all acknowledge that God is the only person who can bring people together despite their tribal difference . She further stated that political /economic division of resources should be proportional not to one ethnic group. Miss Elizabeth emphasize that the youth should be empowered through education illustrating the Nigerian unity to the Lagos FESTAC of the 1970s where all tribes partcipated in the carnival which strengthen the countrys unity.
 In his word of advice FR Donatus call on the youth that instead of using diversity as a weakness they should rather used it as a strength to promoting peaceful coexistence in the country.  In her own part miss Elizabeth called  on the youth especially students to engage in entrepreneur skills instead of waiting for white colour jobs from the government. She said this is the only way through which social vices can be reduce and through this the diversity will be achieved. Contributing, Fr Solomon Zaku acknowledge that our diversity can be as a strength but not as weakness. He further circumstancially talked on the use of culture by the political elites in a negative form. To Fr Solomon only the masses can determine the Nigerian diversity but not the politicians.
 The talk show come to an end with audience asking questions while answers where given and issue raised were address and acknowledge.

After the talk show was the FYB old school dance. All the FYB present dance to the delight of everyone while the audience cheered and applauded them for a wonderful performance. After this segment was the igbo dance. Followed by the alumni night., BRO AKUME DAVID talked on behalf of the alumni on life after graduation.  Bro Moses M. also spoke well on the opportunities after graduation.  All the alumni present were happy to be back and supported the NFCS.
 The awesome NFCS alumni night come to an end with a word of prayer by fr hycyinth yawati.
