NFCS CULTURAL CARNIVAL - Day Two
Royal night 09/08/2019
The event tagged "Royal Night" began with the holy mass around 5pm while some people were outside trying to put things in place. The event took place within the church premises. Before the end of the mass, Bro Orbum Joseph, President of Jos Provincial NFCS told the lumen Christi press in a brief interview, that today being the Royal Night he can't wait to see the contestants,owing to the fact that for the first time in the history of NFCS there will be 14 contestants, so he really CAN'T wait.
Sis Esther Ijasini also repressed her joy seeing different people from different culture and background.
The Rev. Fr who is also the chaplain in person of Fr. Solomon Zaku, showcased His happiness towards the carnival and he also said he is happy seeing students coming together as one .
After the holy mass the NFCS praise band led the praise and worship .
Bright and Malate took over from them being the Anchors of today's program ,dignitaries were called upon and offered their seats. some of which are;Lecturers , Master and Miss NFCS, NFCS president,Ambassadors e.t.c
The Praise band then took over with an awesome praise song that got everyone dancing,after which the NFCS Anthem was sang and in respect to that everyone was on their feet.
Drama band ministered also, their ministration illustrated the cultural theme."A united people, A strong nation. "
The contest started immediately after the Drama band ministration with the judges being introduced on stage. The contestants followed each other with cheering faces, courageous smiles and great supporters. The contestants were grouped as Male and female partners signifying teamwork. From Team A to G, they are; .
Team A-John Augustine from south east and Mary Stephen from north east.
Team B-Victor Horsefor from south south and Jennifer Emmanuel from north central.
TeamC-John Callicious from north central and Maureen Francis from north east.
Team D-Ifeanyi Jude from south east and comfort Nicholas from north east.
Team E-Joseph Cosmas from south south and Shunita Bororo from north east.
TeamF- Moses Udie from south west and Jaws Amfelias from north east.
Team G- Joseph simon from north east and Chukiduemeka Amarachi from south east.
Different questions were asked with a time rate giving. Questions relating to the Catholic Doctrine, Current Affairs, knowledge of NFCS, Logic and Unimaid were asked. The contestants answered intelligently and courageously. During the question and answer segment a break was given and the offertory was conducted. A physical activity was conducted where male Contestants were asked to tie thier partners scarf. After that, the compilation of results was made.
The results were announced and Bro.John Augustine and Sis. Mary Stephen of Group A emerged winners and thus the New Mr and Miss NFCS for 2019/2020 session. The audience cheered and joyfully celebrated with the winners.
