NFCS VIGIL AT A GLANCE

Today, 29th of August 2019, the Nigeria federation of Catholic Students All Saints Chaplaincy Unimaid had her monthly Vigil. The spirit-filled event began at exactly 6pm with the holy Rosary. After the Holy Rosary, the praise and worship was led by the NFCS Praise band. People danced happily.
The vigil was moderated by Bro. Emmanuel Ugwu who led the congregation in singing the NFCS Anthem.

The second segment of the event was Testimony time. NFCSers shared testimonies of the goodness and mercies of God in their lives and families. Some of the testifiers urged the congregation to always trust God and pray unfailingly. The congregation glorified and thanked God for the testimonies shared. During the testimony session, Bro. Emmanuel Ngbede, an Alumnus told the congregation how he overcame certain temptations. He encouraged everyone to listen to God and be patient.

The day's speaker in person of Bro. Richard Pankshin began his talk with a testimony immediately after leading the congregation in a powerful worship segment. He narrated to the congregation how God healed him from an ailment. He charged everyone to hunger and thirst for the presence of God because it is there souls are transformed just as the lord invites people to come to him.

He spoke on the love of God for mankind and the authority given to all by God. Some of the Scriptural references were made from the book of Jeremiah 51 vrs20, 1Corinthians 10 vrs 4 & 11.
He spoke on the effects of carnality in lives. According to him, to become a weapon of God, one must not depend on carnality. He gave illustrations of people like Gideon whom God tagged "A man of valor." He further stated that we are the battle axe of God and all must arise and fight for God. To do so, the desires of the flesh must be shunned.

After his talk, Bro. Richard alongside Bro. Emmanuel led the congregation in a powerful prayer session where they prayed and made powerful declsrations. During the prayer segment various intentions were prayed for.
After that, the usual offertory was made and Bro. Callistus Jacob the NFCS secretary, made the announcements. He also thanked the moderator, speaker and everyone who attended the vigil.

The Moderator made closing remarks and marked the end of the vigil with the usual closing prayers.
The NFCS vigil was indeed a memorable event.
