NFCS THANKSGIVING FELLOWSHIP
The Thanksgiving event began at exactly 6pm with praises and Worship led by the NFCS Praise Band. After the praises and worship, the NFCS Anthem and congregational hymn were sang. The event was moderated by Sis. Margaret Adiel.
During Testimony time, lots of people gave thanks to God for his mercies, favors ,grace and intercession. Some Final year brethren also thanked God for bringing them to the end of their study. They expressed their joy and Thanksgiving. The testifiers were prayed for.
The day's speaker's in person of Bro. Charles Mackay Onoja spoke on the topic "You are no longer ruled by your desires." The Scriptural reading was made from Romans 8:9.
Bro. Mackay charged the congregation to desist from getting attached to material things and thus we must not be ruled by them. He gave an illustration of how Joseph overcame the desire of the flesh and was granted favor from God.(Genesis 39:4-20) he also made reference to the story of Adam and Eve and Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego as well. According to him, we are humans and are mostly ruled by our desires but we should never let our desires rule over us.
He encouraged everyone to desire God for his grace is always sufficient for us.
After the talk, the normal offertory was made.
The Thanksgiving session was moderated by Bro. Peter .Ahua. The activity was done based on faculties. Every faculty called on was represented by students who danced, cheered and made their Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving fellowship was a success as students from different departments and faculties danced and gave thanks to God.
The announcements were later made by the NFCS Secretary. He thanked the Speaker, moderator and everyone for attending the fellowship which is the last fellowship of the session.
The NFCS Thanksgiving day ended few minutes to 8pm with closing remarks by the NFCS President Bro. Emmanuel Onyekwere. He wished everyone journey mercies and also congratulated the Final year Students. He encouraged all students to desist from bad deeds and try to make contributions in the NFCS Secretariat through the collection of Appeal envelopes. A chain prayer was made for different intentions and the NFCS President led the closing prayers marking the end of the session's fellowship.
