  NFCS DECIDES

 Today 28th of November 2019, the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students All saints Catholic chaplaincy University of Maiduguri had their annual election.
The days fellowship tagged as "Election Day" began by 6pm with the Holy Rosary. The NFCS Praise band then led the congregation in praises and worship. After that, the day's moderator Sister Sylvia Orji invited the Speaker in person of Brother Clement Agbo for exhortation. Bro Clement in his exhortation charged the congregation to allow the spirit of God guide them during the election and that sentiments should be kept aside. He also made reference to the book of Mathew chapter 16 Vrs 18 where Christ chose Peter to head his church.

  Presentations from the various NFCS sub units were made in line with the days event.
The NFCS electoral committee shared out election ballots to the congregation after Mr.Charles Egbe a member of the church council sent to observe the election addresed the congregation. He advised NFCSers to vote peacefully and accordingly. The nominees were earlier screened and paired for specific positions.
 After the elections, results were collated and the following persons were elected to serve as the new executives for the 2019/2020 academic session.

Welfare male: Ezekiel Clement
Welfare Female: Emmanuella Ukaefu
P.R.O male: Odiniya JohnDaniel
P.R.O female:Faustina Patrick
Financial secretary: Peter Paul Zira
Treasurer: Maureen Boniface
Assistant Secretary: Henry Peter
General Secretary:Emmanuel Williams Williams
Vice President: Paschalia Frederick Banyawa
President:Emmanuel Onyekwere.
     ....and for sub group elections, the following persons were elected
Praise Band Director: Sister Blessing Michael
Drama Band coordinator: Sister Shunita Bororo.
Editor-in-Chief:Sister. Lucy Richard Bello.

  The congregation cheered and clapped for the newly elected executives. Mr. Charles Egbe the Elections observer acknowledged the electoral committee and charged the latest executivs to discharge their duties wholeheartedly towards making NFCS better. The electoral committee appreciated the congregation for their cooperation.
Announcements were later made and the election fellowship ended with a closing prayer Some minutes to 9pm.

Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS) is a body encompassing catholic students in all high institutions of learning. Its history can be traced back to 1920 when the idea of catholic students unionism came up; an internal catholic study union (ICSU) was created in swiss with George de Montenach as the president to deepen the urgency for reconciliation in a world torn apart by the first world war. The 2023 NFCS CULTURAL WEEK arrived a fiestive and as usual, angelic, top the shelve offerings from our esteemed Praise Band and Choir. Their presentation of  were heavenly. An accord of all sections of the choir embellished in voices worthy of enchanting stones back to life. The Drama Band, rivalled only by the likes of Hollywood and Bollywood by acting drama that speaks about the cultural theme taged; Sharing our similarities and celebrating our difference ; revelled the gathered NFCSers and well wishers with the antics of their well prepared; singular performances, witht the cultural lessons of  well received and applauded.
