NFCS PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hosanna in the highest! Glory and honor to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ by whose death and resurrection we were saved and born to new life.
Beloved brethren, I am delighted to have you all back to yet another new Academic session. I congratulate you all as you soar into new academic levels and a bigger congratulations to our first year brethren who just secured admission into the University of Maiduguri. I welcome us particularly to first Semester, 2019/2020 academic session as we move from Glory to Glory in the love of our Lord.
During the last Semester, the Lord guided us with a theme which makes to draw us closer to God by obeying his Command – “Do as He Commands”: an excerpt from St. John’s Gospel Chapter 2:5. Through the theme we learnt to love God by obeying his commands and thereby enjoying the graces and mercies that ensues from such act of obedience to the will of God our God.
Again this Semester, I am delighted to announce to you the Theme of the Semester drawn from St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians chapter 2:8; “Saved by Grace”. Brethren, we should keep in mind that it is by grace that we are saved and not through our righteousness, hard-work or obedience to the law.
To be saved by Grace is a very straight-forward phenomenon not requiring any special skills or involving any onerous task, in that it’s not a formula to follow but rather a miracle to believe and receive. This is a miracle that was wrought by Christ on the cross of Calvary and the word of calling unto us in John 3:16 points that we need only believe and be saved. Salvation is God’s righteousness at work in us when we say yes to His plans and purposes. Saying yes is how we demonstrate faith. We get saved by grace through faith, but we also live by grace through our faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
As Christians, God continually endears us to himself through grace which has been made sufficient enough to sustain us until we see him face to face, it is by this same grace that we are saved from eternal damnation (2Peter 1:3-4). The salvation that Jesus secured with His death and resurrection is one that restores a believer’s oneness with God (Romans 5:10). Through salvation Jesus transforms us completely and provides for us everything we need to lead a life that will qualify us for a blessed eternity with our creator.
The Grace of God is so amazing that many of us still find it difficult to understand and believe, some say it is too good to be true but it is! Remembering the story of the repentant thief on the cross with Jesus (Luke 23:39-43), this is where faith comes in as it takes faith to believe and accept such an amazing thing as grace in order to be saved. In so doing, we must believe that God is as good and Gracious as He says He is and believe that Jesus came to personally deliver the grace of God to us and this leads to salvation and then we can confidently say: we are SAVED BY GRACE.
Beloved, during the cause of this gracious Semester, we shall be engaging you spiritual with many programs aimed at uplifting your spirit-man, academic and social events are also not left out, therefore I expect from you full participation and I urge you to support us to deliver to you the NFCS of your dream. Remember, NFCS is one big family United in Christ, we need everyone around, tell somebody to remind someone not to forget to remind everyone to inform everybody about NFCS!
May the Grace of God see us through this Semester – Amen
I wish you a very fruitful academic session.
Remember, I love you, and there is nothing you can do about it!
