NFCS UNIMAID SECRETARIAT PROJECT

The Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students University of Maiduguri Chapter embarked on its secretariat project about 14 years ago. This is a project that if completed will serve lots of needs. The NFCS Unimaid secretariat project is a building under construction that is meant to house a kitchen, an office block, store rooms, two rooms (one for visitors) with a library and a conference hall for convenience.
This is a project that has been under construction for about 14 years and is yet to be completed but to the glory of God in December 2019, a launching was done at the All Saints Catholic Chaplaincy University of Maiduguri to foster the completion of the long uncompleted project. The sum of four hundred and eighteen thousand naira (#418,000) was realized from the launching excluding pledges that are yet to be redeemed which amount to about seventy seven thousand naira (#77,000).
Before the launching, there were constructions that were yet to be completed. This include ceiling work, plumbing of three toilets, flooring, plastering, fixing of doors of two rooms, library and conference room, completion of the wiring which began in 2015 among other miscellaneous works. The estimated amount to finally complete this herculean secretariat project amounts to about 3.5 million Naira out of which the cash sum of #418,000 was realized.
NFCS SECRETARIAT CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The funds that were realized during the launching that was conducted in December 2019, was used to complete the flooring and plastering of the two rooms, store and convenience rooms. Doors were also purchased and fixed in the two rooms. Ceilings in the two rooms, store, convenience rooms and veranda were all fixed. Toilet facilities were also procured for the three toilets and construction is currently ongoing.
This secretariat project that is taking more than a decade to complete seems to be coming to an end as the outcome of the recent launching was injected into the building and construction project. However, the work is yet to be finally completed as the library and conference room ceilings are yet to be fixed. Wirings and fittings are also yet to be completed. The library and conference hall are yet to be generally furnished. Ceilings are yet to be placed in the exterior part of the building as well. The project needs the total sum of 3 million naira to be finally completed.
If this project is finally completed, it will serve various needs like providing the students with a store room to keep their things for safety especially when they are travelling home for holidays. The conference room will serve as a venue for meetings. The rooms will accommodate visitors during conferences and meetings. The library will provide an environment for students to study effectively. This among other functions, the secretariat will serve.
Therefore financial, material and humanitarian assistance is needed to at least help in making the NFCS Unimaid secretariat project a success. You can make your willful contribution to the completion of our secretariat building.
