SECURITY CHALLENGES ALONG MAIDUGURI-DAMATURU ROAD

It is has been known all over that the Northeastern part of Nigeria has been battling insurgency for a long period of time. Borno state particularly is under consistent attacks by the Book Haram terrorists group.

Few weeks ago the there were video's circulating online where people are seen fleeing helplessly from the insurgents who we're chasing them. The Boko Haram insurgents were seen chasing the people in various angles with gunshots thereby spreading panic amongst people. Lumen Christi Press gathered that these attacks occurred along the Famous Maiduguri-Damaturu road.

As a result of the killings and kidnapping occurring on roads such as the Damboa to Adamawa , Gwoza, mungono, and Bama road among others, movement has since been restricted along this road, and since then the Maiduguri-Damaturu road became the only means of exiting Maiduguri.

However, the road has been under heavy attacks recently. The armed forces and other civilian forces are making laudable impacts to fight the insurgents. Recently, it seems the attacks has stopped and movement has continued along the road. The military have advised traveler's to take note of checkpoints and only stop in military checkpoints of Auno, Njimtilo, Mainok, and Benisheikh among others. The Lumen Christi Press also calls on NFCSers to pray and seek the intervention of God so that the insurgency will come to an end.
